On November 6, the voters of PSC District 2 elected Scott Angelle (R) to a six year term on the Louisiana Public Service Commission. Angelle replaces Jimmy Field, the first Republican elected to the Commission.
“My experience with an energy background made me well suited for the job,” Angelle said Tuesday night. “We worked hard and campaigned in all 13 parishes.”
Angelle will bring with him years of experience as the Secretary of Natural Resources and as Governor Bobby Jindal’s go-to-man when shepherding legislation. With his experience as a deal maker, Angelle should be well suited to bring together the different factions before the Commission. With Natural Gas so heavily relied on for electrical generation in Louisiana, the next six years of Angelle’s term will be very important for the long term diversification of Louisiana energy sources. Congratulations to Scott and welcome to the LPSC!
