One Baton Rouge office, with service across Louisiana

Field Law offers in-person meetings at its Baton Rouge office and remote service. The communities listed here are service areas, not additional offices. Tell us where the person lives, where the property is located, and whether a court matter is already open so we can identify the right starting point.

The 18th Judicial District: three courthouses and parish clerks and 20th Judicial District: East and West Feliciana courthouses each serve multiple parishes with separate record paths. A shared judicial district does not make the parish clerks interchangeable.

How to choose a location

For future planning, choose the community where you live or where the property and family decisions are centered. For a succession, the decedent’s domicile usually determines the court path, while real estate may require record work in every parish where it is located.

If more than one place is involved, start with the hub that best describes the immediate problem. Field Law can confirm the correct parish, identify whether another record source is needed, and route detailed Louisiana-law questions to the appropriate statewide practice guide.

Louisiana estate-law service area FAQs

Does location change Louisiana estate-planning law?

The statewide law is the same, but a person's family, property, records, domicile, and practical access affect the work. Succession venue and record sources are parish-specific.

Can I choose a statewide guide instead?

Yes. Use the statewide practice hubs for detailed Louisiana-law explanations. Use a location hub when local service, records, or court context will help you begin.

Can Field Law help someone who lives outside Louisiana?

Yes. Field Law regularly works with out-of-state clients on Louisiana estate and succession matters. Many steps can begin remotely.
