Live Outside Louisiana? You Can Start Here.

You may be an heir, an executor named in a will, or a family member trying to understand what needs to happen after a death. You do not need to know the correct Louisiana procedure before contacting us.

Tell us where the person lived, where the Louisiana property is located, whether a court proceeding has started, and what documents you already have. Field Law can assess the legal work and explain the information needed to move forward.

Many discussions and document exchanges can begin remotely. Any need for travel, original documents, or particular signing arrangements depends on the work involved; we discuss those requirements with you.

One Office, With Service Across Louisiana

Our physical office is in Baton Rouge. A service-area page does not mean that Field Law maintains an office in that community. If your town is not listed, contact us about your Louisiana estate matter.

For planning, tell us where you live and what you want to accomplish for your family. For an estate after a death, tell us about the person who died and the property involved. We can determine which parish, records, and procedures matter to the work. You do not need to resolve those questions yourself before making an inquiry.

Questions About Working With Field Law

Do I need to visit the office to begin?

Many matters can begin by phone, video, or secure document exchange. We explain any later in-person or signing requirements for your particular work.

What if several parishes or family members in different states are involved?

Describe the situation and the immediate task you need help with. We can identify the documents and local records to review and explain who the firm would represent.

What should I prepare for a consultation?

Start with a short description of your goal, the people and property involved, and any existing wills, trusts, or court papers. An incomplete file should not prevent you from asking what is needed next. We explain the proposed scope and fee before representation begins.
